Be sure to notify (ping) Google, Yahoo, and Ask.com MSN Live.com currently does not support any notify feature. Alternately you can automatically notify the big four search engines Google, Yahoo, Live/MSN and Ask of a new sitemap or the existence of one, they will index your Sitemaps file when they spider tour site if you have added the link to your Sitemaps file in your robots.txt file. Be aware, that though this method will "work automatically" it may take awhile, depending upon how often your site is spidered.
