Private label rights (PLR) articles are still one of the more appealing sources of quick composition for bloggers and other Web marketers. Visitors to your blog need a constant source of interesting reading material to keep them coming back. Infoproduct creators and ebook writers love having something to work from that speeds up their writing. But while PLR can be an incredible tool for substance creation, it can plus go awry and suck up your moment and cash whether you produce any of these 3 mistakes.
Mistake #1: Not having a plan in place
It’s a sad fact that a large percentage of humans who buy PLR subject matter never use it. The files just pile up in their virtual carport. Vague ideas and plans for it are forgotten as new, shiny opportunities seem. Don’t waste your money on something you’re never going to use. Instead, have a plan in place before you even go shopping. Ask yourself the following questions:
- Why do you need more subject matter?
- Where will you be publishing it?
- How will you use the substance you buy?
Answer these 3 questions and you’ll be able to put a clear plan in place, just as you need to do for any substance. Only thereupon may you go shopping for some PLR, knowing precisely what you are looking for in terms of topic and format. Don’t just buy something considering it looks like you might be able to use it in the future or it will end up like that pretty fondue pot – in a box, waiting for the imaginary fondue party that will probably never happen.
Mistake #2: Thinking you’re getting a bargain
Here’s a general rule of thumb to follow when shopping for PLR. whether it costs less than a $1 per page, it’s probably not very high value. Ever seen those packs of 100 articles for $5? Complete and utter rubbish that should never see the light of day.
It’s true that you can sometimes get a great deal when there is a sale or a special offer on places like the Warrior Forum, but don’t rely on that. It’s not as whether PLR is overly expensive anyway, even the really high quality packs. In fact, its low price is probably the reason folks end up buying composition that they never will use.
Rather than shopping around for a bargain, keep a list of your favorite places to buy PLR. soon after, when you know what you need, check those sites first. They may not have what you need right away, in which case you can simply type in your keyword plus “PLR” in your search engine of choice. However, whether you get on their e mail list, you’ll at least get notified when they come out with something new.
If you do need to try out a new seller, look for some free samples on their site. Most PLR sites have some excerpts, at the minimum. Many additionally offer downloads of a few free articles. You can take your chances, but it’s nice to know what quality you can expect.
Mistake #3: Not editing your PLR
It doesn’t matter whether the substance you purchased is limited to 50 copies or unlimited copies sold. You need to edit it and put in your own rare voice. Even whether you will only be using it for your mail newsletters or in a printed leaflet for offline seminars, it should be customized to your specific audience and market.
Most PLR by its nature is designed to be generic. It’s your job to add your own examples, personal anecdotes and language that reflects the way you normally write. The beauty of private label rights is they give you the opportunity to change the substance however you choose. Use just one portion, combine it with other substance, break it up, or even convert it to video and audio.
Most importantly, don’t let your PLR composition sit on your computer collecting virtual dust. Develop a plan, only buy what you need, and customize it to your market.
